Statement of Faith
I. God
There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings. Belief in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection and the acceptance of Him as one’s Lord and Savior is the only way to salvation.

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts which are used for the glory of God and the edification of His kingdom. As Christians we seek to live under His influence daily.

II. Creation
God created all things, seen and unseen, from nothing. Creation testifies to His existence and we are responsible for the care and stewardship of His creation.

III. Humanity
Humanity is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. The gift of gender is thus part of the goodness of God's creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race and all creation. Through the temptation of Satan man transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original innocence. Therefore, all have sinned and have fallen short of God’s standard of perfection. Only the grace of God can bring humanity into His holy fellowship. Every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

IV. The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

IV. Salvation
Salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

V. Evangelism and Missions
It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations. The new birth of humanity’s spirit by God's Holy Spirit means the birth of love for others. Missionary effort on the part of all rests thus upon a spiritual necessity of life, and is expressly and repeatedly commanded in the teachings of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ has commanded the preaching of the gospel to all nations. It is the duty of every child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by verbal witness undergirded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ.

VI. Education
Christianity is the faith of enlightenment and intelligence. In Jesus Christ abide all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. All sound learning is, therefore, a part of our Christian heritage. In Christian education there should be a proper balance between academic freedom and academic responsibility. The freedom of a teacher in a Christian school, college, or seminary is limited by the pre-eminence of Jesus Christ, by the inward persuasion of the Holy Spirit, by the authoritative nature of the Scriptures, and by the distinct purpose for which the school exists.

VII. The Family
God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime.
The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God's image. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. He has the God-given responsibility to provide for, to protect, and to lead his family. A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ.
Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God's pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents.

In Summation:
Regarding God:
God is eternal and exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity plays a role in the salvation and life of a believer through union with God the believer and with the Trinity.
Regarding Creation:
God is the creator of all things, seen and unseen - and from nothing.
Regarding Humanity:
God created humanity to be in relationship with Him. Because of Adam and Eve’s sin, humanity is born with a fallen nature, God made a way to redeem them through Jesus Christ. All of humanity is created in the image of God with the opportunity to enter a relationship with Him. Gender and human sexuality is designed and assigned by God from conception with no need for human interpretation.
Regarding Scripture:
The Bible is the inspired words of God revealed to mankind through the written truth given by the Holy Spirit through human authors. It is inerrant, inspired, and unchanging, and is authoritative in our life and faith.
Regarding Salvation:
Salvation is the free gift of God through Jesus Christ’s incarnation, blameless life, death, and resurrection. Salvation is found in no other name and in no one else but Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. Any person is saved by confessing sin and declaring with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, a person is saved, justified before God. The work of the Holy Spirit is to sanctify the believer in holiness in a personal relationship with Jesus.
Regarding Evangelism and Missions:
All believers of Jesus Christ are called into the Great Commission by Jesus. It is the joy and duty of the Christian’s duty to go and make disciples of all nations through personal witness, going on mission, and giving to missions through local, state, and national organizations.
Regarding Education:
Christian education exists to build up believers of Jesus Christ in truth, wisdom, and knowledge that all point to, and are directed at, the majesty and authority of God. Siloam Christian School exists to build up our next generation to these ends.
Regarding Family:
Marriage is between one man and one woman, both equal before God with distinct gifts, abilities, and responsibilities. Children are a blessing from God and are alive from the moment of conception with their God-given sex and gender. Families of all types (nuclear, step, single, or adopted) are used by God to show His goodness and love through their bonds of love and support.
This statement of faith reflects the teaching of the Siloam Christian School faculty and church, but does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe through the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit. For purposes of doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, First Baptist Church Siloam Springs’ pastoral leadership is the school’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
